Why gel is the right choice for a Red Sea holiday

Regular polish and a beach holiday are a poor match. Sun cream, salt water, pool chlorine and sand between the fingers will chip a normal manicure within two days, and re-doing it mid-trip is a waste of an afternoon.

Gel is a different material. Cured under a UV/LED lamp, it hardens into a flexible, sealed layer rather than drying by evaporation, which is why it is touch-dry the moment you stand up and why it survives two to three weeks of the things that destroy regular polish. Nothing smudges in your bag on the way back to the hotel.

The practical result is that you make one decision at the start of the holiday and then stop thinking about your nails, which is the point. It also means you can go straight from the appointment to the pool.

The appointment, step by step

The hour is mostly preparation, and that is where the durability comes from. Hands are sanitised, any old polish is removed, and the nails are trimmed and shaped to whatever you ask for - square, squoval, almond or round.
